THE ROLE

We are seeking a talented and experienced Prototype Technician to join our innovative team in the field of Direct Air Capture ensure that the final product meets the highest standards of (energy) efficiency, functionality sustainability, and feasibility for mass production.


YOU’LL MAKE AN IMPACT BY

  • Collaborate with the DAC design team to comprehend project requirements and employ engineering principles to develop prototypes for DAC systems, whether physical or digital.
  • Assemble DAC prototypes by integrating mechanical and electrical components with precision, ensuring seamless integration of subsystems.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives at Skytree by actively participating in ideation and collaborating with cross-functional teams to establish testing procedures, analyze results, and implement iterative enhancements to prototype functionality.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers, scientists, and project managers to ensure alignment with project objectives, while effectively communicating prototype design decisions, changes, and test outcomes to team members.
  • Manage project-related inventory efficiently, ensuring availability of materials and components for prototype development and testing, while collaborating with procurement and project management teams to optimize inventory levels and prevent project delays.
  • Ensure a clean, organized, and safe lab environment for prototype development and testing by implementing and adhering to safety protocols, while maintaining compliance with industry standards.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • At least a technically oriented High School level, or a related field.

  • Proven experience in rapid prototyping techniques, prototype development, specifically in designing and assembling mechanical and electrical assemblies. 

  • Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical engineering principles, materials science. 

  • Familiarity with CAD software for both 2D and 3D modeling, and electrical diagrams. Modeling is not required but using drawings to build assemblies is required.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
